AP Govt invokes ESMA (Essential Services Maintenance Act) on Medical&Health Staff

AP Govt ESMA Act

AP State Govt today declared Health Care and Medical facilities as Essential Services for a period of six months as per ESMA 1971. Govt of AP has released G.O RT.No.228 Dated 03-04-2020 due to the spread of Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh. So far 161 cases have been registered in AP. AP State Govt declared the following services as essential services for a period of 6 months.

1. All Health Facilities.
2. Doctors, Nurses and Health Personnel.
3. Sanitation workers in Health Facilities.
4. Purchase, Maintenance and Transport of Medical Equipment
5. Sale, transport and manufacturing of medicine and drugs.
6. Ambulance Services.
7. Water and Electricity supply.
8. Security related services.
9. Food and drinking water provision and management.
10. Bio Medical Waste Management




Government of Andhra Pradesh is satisfied that, it is necessary and expedient in the public interest to prohibit refusal to work in the Essential services as specified above. Govt declare the above services as Essential Services for refusal to work in/for all Government and Private Health and Medical Facilities with immediate effect.

AP District wise COVID 19 Cases

Coronavirus cases in 11 districts while no cases are recorded in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts.

In India so far 2301 cases recorded positive for COVID 19. Thousands of people are now in quarantine. About 157 people have been recovered fully from this illness while 56 people have lost their life due to Coronavirus in India.
